I've never advertised myself as a wedding photographer, because I'm not. To be honest I'm much more at home with my camera on a coast path, or halfway up a Greek mountainside. Others will do a more professional job, have more fancy kit to use and will produce stunning albums... at a high cost. I have now photographed four weddings, all very different, and in each case the bride and groom have (at least to my face) been very happy with the results. I can provide good quality wedding shots and will then provide you with a disc of all the shots so you can choose whether to have some printed, or just upload them to your computer to share online, or even both. Its not something I do often, but.. if you're not too far from the Staffordshire or Shropshire area, and need a reliable wedding photographer at a fraction of the price of the professionals, then feel free to get in touch.
I have to confess I have had very little time for photography recently due to taking on a new day job with more hours and my continuing radio committments. However I hope to spend more time behind the lens in the near future so watch this space.
I have recently returned from a trip around the world taking in Dubai, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong. I'll post a selection of images on this website but have loads more available if any are needed. A few more have been posted on my facebook page at www.facebook.com/shaun,geraghty.1
Due to my radio work (and the day job) getting in the way I have not had much time to concentrate on my photography. Hopefully this year will provide more opportunities to add to the galleries. If you are interested in what I'm up to in the meantime you can find me on facebook at www.facebook.com/shaun.geraghty.1 or www.facebook.com/theprogmill or twitter @shaunontheair I'll try to update this site as soon as I can. Happy new year to all!
News from THE PROG MILL
Since December 2011 I have been presenting the popular weekly progressive rock show THE PROG MILL. The show started on Stafford Radio, broadcasting from the iconic Broad Eye Windmill in Stafford, the station re-branded in 2015 as Windmill Radio. The show quickly built up a large worldwide online audience. In April 2016 Windmill Radio closed, so a new home for The Prog Mill was needed. After considering several offers from different radio stations, The Prog Mill moved to its new home at PROGZILLA RADIO. The UK's largest dedicated progressive rock radio station. The Prog Mill has kept its traditional time slot of 10pm to midnight (UK time) on Sunday nights, and can be heard online at www.progzilla.com or via the tune-in app (search for Progzilla Radio). A podcast of the show is available to listen to any time within a couple of days of the original broadcast (via the Progzilla website). The Prog Mill plays a mix of classic and new symphonic and melodic progressive rock, and helps a lot of new artists and bands, trying to make their way in the competitive world of music, to gain more popularity through airplay on the show.
You can contact The Prog Mill via email: firstname.lastname@example.org, twitter @shaunontheair or facebook: www.facebook.com/theprogmill
COMING SOON - More colourful images from the islands of the Caribbean
Just returned from two more stunning Greek Islands. All of the islands we have visited have their own character, scenery and traditions yet remain undeniably Greek. All sharing the same culture yet all very different. This time we spent time on Amorgos, a stunning rugged island with so much to sea, fantastic scenery, whitewashed cycladic villages and azure blue seas, still very traditional. Followed by Donoussa, one of the Small Cyclades islands, tiny but incredibly beautiful, vibrant yet peaceful. A little piece of Greek paradise. I'll upload more shots to the galleries as I get time.
I've not been too active on the website lately due to being occupied virtually full time between the day job and my radio shows which keep me very busy. However I've just returned from a fantastic week in Cornwall and Devon and am planning another trip to the stunning Cyclades in Greece this Summer. This time visiting the scenic islands of Amorgos and Donoussa, so I'm hoping to add to the Greek collection then.
Once again I have recently returned from another trip to the beautiful Mani Peninsular in Southern Greece. I will upload some new images as soon as I get a break in my radio work which has become very busy. Not complaining though - I love it!
I have just returned from another trip to the stunning Greek Islands, this time taking in the beautiful islands of Serifos, Sifnos and Milos in the Western Cyclades. Here I saw some of the most picture postcard beautiful scenes I have ever seen in Greece, blue domed churches, whitewashed villages of cubic shaped houses with blue shutters, and stunning landscapes, The island of Sifnos in particular has touched my heart and we shall certainly be returning there. I have put some taster shots in the latest gallery and will add more as time permits.
I have just returned from another trip to the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast. I'll put a couple of shots in the latest gallery. I can highly recommend this stunning area, particularly the North Pembrokeshire coast, for superb coastal and seascape photography.

We have just returned from the stunning Caribbean, visiting a number of warm scenic sundrenched islands. I'll post some of my latest shots from this amazing part of the world as soon as I can.
Again radio has taken up most of my time (apart from the day job!). We have recently returned from one of our favourite parts of Greece, the beautiful Mani Peninsular in the Southern Peleponnese, and I have included just a few pics in the latest gallery. This is a stunning area of mountains, hillside villages and great beaches and is a wonderful place to mix a sunshine holiday with some of the real Greece.
It's been radio radio for the past few months which has left little time for photography. However it's just another way of being creative I guess! I hope to get some worthwhile images to upload to the site during a trip to Greece in September.
I have just returned from the beautiful far west of Cornwall and it was good to return to some photography, especially as we were enjoying sunshine while the rest of the country was shivering with snow. I eventually pulled myself together and started using my Nikon DSLR again after spending some time being very lazy and using the camera on my smart phone! I've posted a few onto the latest gallery here.
It's been radio radio all the way snce the turn of the year with very little time for photography. However I wil be visiting the beautiful Cornish coast very soon and am hoping for some good photographic opportunities.

Not much time for photography recently but I have been very busy with radio. I was really proud to recently be chosen by top UK prog band Freedom to Glide to give the world premiere of their world war 1 based mini album "The Wait" on my Prog Mill Radio show. The show will also very soon be carrying an interview with members from progressive rock band "The Room" to mark the launch of their new album in December.
I have just returned from the beautiful island of Madeira with it's rugged mountain and coastal scenery and tropical flora. I did manage some photography and will post a few pics up here.
We have just returned from 2 weeks in the mountains of Andalucia, in Southern Spain, exploring the whitewashed pueblos blancos
villages and mountain passes, sampling traditional tapas in friendly village squares. I will be uploading shots to the "latest" gallery over the coming weeks.
Radio work continues to keep me busy which is great. We did manage to get away over August Bank Holiday to the Lake District, and despite the wet weather did get a brief window of opportunity for some photography, and some have been added to the galleries.
I have just returned from yet another trip to Greece, which remains, despite what some media may have you believe, one of the most beautiful and friendly countries in the world, with beautiful coastal scenery, good food, friendly people, fantastic weather and is still the perfect place for a relaxing holiday. This time we visited the stunning Pelion Peninsular for the first time, and some of the shots can be seen in the latest gallery).
WALES GALLERY NOW ADDED
As the collection of shots from Wales had increased recently, they can all now be found in their own gallery.
PROG MILL NEWS
The Prog Mill Radio show continues to gather pace, and is now regarded as the progressive rock radio show of choice by many music fans, and even many of the band members themselves. We're hoping for a slightly earlier time slot in the near future but it depends on how schedule expansion plans at Stafford Radio pan out. If you havent yet listened, please give it a try, as the music is AMAZING! Every Sunday night 10pm to midnight (UK time) at www.staffordradio.com - the ONLY UK radio station to broadcast from a windmill!
I have just returned from a week in one of my favourite places in the whole world, the stunning North Pembrokeshire coast and have uploaded a few photos to the website. I can highly recommend this area to those who love scenic coastal walking, nature, wildlife and photography. If you are as lucky as we were and catch it in good weather it is as good as anywhere. To be honest it is even great in bad weather. Companies such as Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire and Powells Holiday Cottages have some nice accomodation, or there are plenty of places to camp if you prefer.
Unfortunately I have had no time to either take any new photos, or even process most of the shots I took on my recent trip to the Caribbean, due to being so busy with radio work (and the day job of course!). However I hope to sort this out soon. I will also, within the next few weeks, be taking another photographic journey to the stunning North Pembrokeshire Coast.
THE PROG MILL continues to grow and gather listeners. I was pleased to see the show get a mention in the new edition of Classic Rock Presents Prog Magazine (available from most newsagents).
The "PROG MILL" programme is going well and hopefully listening figures will grow week by week. The show features classic old prog rock such as Genesis, Pink Floyd and Yes along with many of the fantastic modern prog bands of today like Mostly Autumn, Magenta, Panic Room, Karnataka etc. Take a listen - Sunday nights 10pm-midnight UK time at www.staffordradio.com
I have recently returned from the Caribbean so will hopefully be adding some images of the beautiful exotic islands to the galleries very soon.
For me, 2012 looks to be another busy, but hopefully fulfilling year, with lots of radio committments but all being well time also for plenty of photography.
Thank you again for popping into the site and please continue to do so. A very Merry Christmas and may 2012 bring you much happiness and good health!
You can hear my new programme THE PROG MILL every Sunday between 10pm and Midnight UK time, playing the best of new and old progressive rock, on Staffordshire's newest radio station STAFFORD RADIO. www.staffordradio.com
I am pleased to announce that I will be presenting a weekly 2 hour prog rock show (in addition to the shows I do for other radio stations). It will be broadcast Sunday evenings and will be starting very soon. www.staffordradio.com
GNOSALL GALLERY DELETED
I have deleted the gallery featuring shots of my home area of Gnosall to make room for new Greek images. However if anyone in my local area would like local shots (of any size), including properties, local scenes, countryside etc, then let me know.
I have had several enquiries about wedding and portrait work. Unfortunately I am not equipped to do that but can recommend several superb local photographers in the Staffordshire area if you need any help.
I have just returned from yet another Greek Odyssey, this time a repeat visit to the beautiful island of Kalymnos, in the Dodecanese. The colours, light and beauty of Greece never fail to inspire me. S'agapo Hellas!
I will be presenting a new 2 hour weekly progressive rock show on an internet radio station launching in the near future. More details coming soon.
LATE AUGUST 2011
It's been radio radio all the way for me recently but very soon I will be concentrating more on photography again with new material being added to the Greek collection, and also some more exotic location shots coming within the next few months.
I was really pleased that Gnosall Parish Council chose one of my images for their promotional leaflet which was delivered to every house in the village to promote the recent GFest festival.
It has been another busy month for my radio committments, but I am still working on some of my recent Greek images and look forward to adding to them in the Autumn.
Radiowise it is all happening in Stafford with no less than three internet based stations preparing to launch. I am not sure what my involvement will be with any of them at this stage due to other committments but will be watching developments with interest. One thing is sure, there will be additional ways to hear my shows in the near future, one may come from an unexpected source so watch this space!
Just back from another Greek trip, this time to the off the beaten track Fourni Islands, perfect for those who love the real Greece, and of course stunning scenery. I'll post just a sample of the many many images I have available on this website.
Spring for me started with a very sunny week on the beautiful North Devon coast, so I have a new range of images available from that area and will post a few sample shots on this site.
Still very busy with radio work. I was also honoured to do the recorded voiceovers recently for the inaugural Staffordshire Volunteers Awards ceremony which was attended by hundreds of people. I have a lot of exciting trips planned for this year so hope to add to the range of images available, as well of course increasing the selection of local scenes.
LATE JANUARY 2011
I've been unable to add to the galleries over the past couple of weeks due to a) a less than fruitful week in Devon where the light remained grey and drizzly all week, and b) being very busy with radio and voiceover production work. I've completed a couple of voiceover projects for Staffordshire County Council, providing the recorded nominations for the forthcoming Staffordshire Volunteers Awards ceremony, and also producing a promo to promote the Carers Awards. Really hoping to produce some new images very soon!
NEW YEAR 2011
It's been a little quiet on the photography front this month due to very busy radio committments and also, of course the weather. More new images coming very soon! A very happy new year to all and may 2011 bring you much happiness and good health!
I have just returned from a short trip to Limousin, the Lot and Dordogne Valley area of France and will be posting new shots from there in the latest images part of the gallery very soon.
THANK YOU to those who have recently ordered framed pictures from me. Your business is much appreciated!
I have just returned from the beautiful Cyclades, the most central of the Greek Islands and home to almost daily spectacular sunsets, some examples will be added to this site very soon.
Just back from a short trip to the beautiful region of Limousin in central France, an area of medieval villages, deep river gorges and rolling countryside. New pics to come soon!
UPDATE 27 JUNE 2010
Just arrived back from a trip from the far north taking in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Russia and Estonia, followed by a mini break in Suffolk and Norfolk, so new photos coming soon!
It's been a little quiet on the photography front recently for me due to my expanding broadcasting committments, but I hope to add more images to the site very soon. Remember these are just a small sample of what is available so contact me if you dont see what you're looking for.
Scandanavia and Russia - scenes from the majestic capital's of the North!

LOCAL RADIO IN STAFFORDSHIRE
We are still hopeful that the community radio project to get a true local radio station on FM up and running for Stafford will be revived in the future. Stafford is one of the largest towns in the UK remaining without its own full time FM radio station. This situation could develop further in the near future so watch this space for details.
